How to Compress a PDF File | + FREE PDF Download

Today, I'm going to show you my favorite site for compressing ALL my PDFs.

If you have an Etsy shop, knowing how to compress your PDFs is important.

Etsy only allows you to upload a document that's 20 megabytes.

So, if your file is larger than that, you will need a compression service.

Let me show you how I compress my files.

This is a lead magnet I created in Canva. It's 19 pages long. It's all about the qualities of an irresistible lead magnet as well as ideas of the best lead magnets to create.

And the best thing is, this resource is FREE.

Ok, back to Canva.

I am going to download this document as a PDF.

• So, click on "PDF print", then click on "Download".
• Now, I tend to airdrop all my PDFs to my iPad.
• I use a note-taking app like GoodNotes or Notability to be able to write in all my PDFs.
• I like using a stylus pencil, which is so much fun!

If you haven't tried that before, you should.

You can get those apps from the App Store for less than $10.

Okay, here's my PDF, I'm going to bring this over to the side and I'm going to show you the site I use all the time, almost every day.

It's called, I love pdf.com.

Can you see all the different things you can do with your PDF?

It's amazing.

• Head over to "Compress PDF".  I'm going to drop my file here.
• The program is going to do all the work for me.
• Now, I use "recommended compression". If my document was over 200 pages, then I would move up here and try the "extreme compression".

But it's not, it's only 19 pages.

So this is going to be fine for me.

Do you see how easy this is?

I've bookmarked I love PDF (dot) com on my computer because I use it all the time.

Do you see how much smaller the file is now?

It's 96% smaller, which is so helpful.

And there you have it, you can't tell that the quality hasn't changed at all.

• Do you see that? The only way I would know that this file was compressed is because I see it here in the URL.
• But of course, when I upload this to Etsy or to my website, I'm going to change this URL and and it won't have the word "compressed" in it, but I know that the file is much smaller.
• So, there you go. It's as easy as that!
